Muhammara is a nut based dip with peppers used to spread on bread or as a dip.
Today we made a VERT FOODS raw version for lunch and have been asked to post the recipe:
2 cups raw cashews, soaked overnight in filtered water (they will become soft)
Once your cashews have been soaked, rinse them with clean water. You can either choose to hand grind or you a slow speed processor.
Add 2 chopped red bell peppers
1 tablespoon curry powder (or make your own using turmeric, cumin, coriander, cloves, black pepper, garlic, cayenne, cinnamon!)
1 teaspoon Himalayan Salt
1/2 of a lemon squeezed
~1/4cup olive oil (you may have to add more based on the consistency you like).
